Thermon RSX 15-2 heat tracing cable is well suited to frost protection applications where high heat losses are encountered and it is vital to prevent freezing from occurring or to rapidly thaw ice. In particular RSX 15-2 cable is DNV (Det Norske Veritas) approved for anti-icing and de-icing on ships and offshore platforms.

 

Thermon RSX 15-2 Heat Tracing Cable

The heat tracing cable provides a heat output of 48w/m at 10ºC and can be installed in environments such ship hand rails and deck surfaces in temperatures as low as -60ºC. RSX heat tracing cable can maintain temperatures up to 65ºC and has a maximum exposure temperature of 85ºC. This means that the cable cannot be subject to steam purging, however the construction of the cable provides protection against aqueous inorganic chemicals, organic chemicals and corrosives. 

As the cable is self-regulating it can be overlapped onto itself without risk of overheating or wasting energy and has a maximum circuit length of 112m. 

RSX 15-2 heat tracing cable is part of the Thermon Industrial heating range and can also be for manufacturing factories, plant rooms, distilleries, pharmaceutical laboratories and many more and is ATEX and IECEx certified for use within Zone 1 & Zone 2 hazardous areas.
