Portaflow PF330 - Micronics Portable Ultrasonic Clamp In flow Meter

The new portable range of clamp on flow meters from Micronics, for simple, accurate flow measurement from outside the pipe.

The Portaflow PF330 is suitable for 13mm – 115mm diameter pipes for Type A transducers or 50mm - 2000mm for Type B, or 1500mm – 5000mm for Type D transducers.

The built in data logger in the PF330 allows site details and flow data to be recorded with a memory, that is able to log 98,000 separate readings.

The new portable range of clamp on flow meters from Micronics, for simple, accurate flow measurement from outside the pipe.

The Portaflow PF220 is suitable for 13mm – 115mm diameter pipes for Type A transducers or 50mm - 1000mm for Type B transducers. 

Stingray - Micronics Portable Ultrasonic Clamp In Flow Meter

The Stingray measures Level and Velocity in open channels or pipes with no calibration required.

The sensor is a completely sealed ultrasonic unit with no orifices or ports. It mounts inside the pipe or at the bottom of a channel and the watertight electronics enclosure is hung in the manhole or at a convenient location.

Sensor mounting bracket, batteries, software and cables are included with each Stingray.

Portaflow D550 - Micronics Portable Ultrasonic Clamp In Flow Meter

The Portaflow D550 Portable Flow Meter is used for dirty or aerated liquids to troubleshoot flow from outside of a pipe.

It is ideal to evaluate performance of in-line flow meters and can be installed, calibrated and started-up in minutes.

The Portaflow D550 can be used for projects where a permanent flow meter is not required or to temporarily replace installed flow transmitters. The D500 is suitable for pipe diameters from 13mm to 4500mm.

Ultrasonic Flow Meter Technology

An ultrasonic flow meter is a type of flow meter that measures the velocity of a liquid or gas (fluid) by using the principle of ultrasound.

Using ultrasonic transducers, the flow meter can measure the average velocity along the path of an emitted beam of ultrasound, by averaging the difference in measured transit time between the pulses of ultrasound propagating into and against the direction of the flow.

Ultrasonic flow meters are affected by the temperature, density and viscosity of the flowing medium. They are inexpensive to use and maintain because they do not use moving parts, unlike mechanical flow meters.

Another method in ultrasonic flow metering is the use of the Doppler shift that results from the reflection of an ultrasonic beam off sonically reflective materials, such as solid particles or entrained air bubbles in a flowing fluid, or the turbulence of the fluid itself, if the liquid is clean.
