Capillary fire valves are a legal requirement (under BS 5410 part 1) for fuel burners, can provide Fuelstop’s Thermostatic Fire Valve (TFV) which conforms to British safety standards and OFTEC OFS E101 and is a highly reliable solution for both customers and installers.
Fuelstop’s TFV is designed to eliminate nuisance trips and has a reset button to return the system to its initial state.
The capillary fire valves are liquid filled which provide more reliability in all weathers than gas filled alternative products.
Fuelstop’s TFV can be provided in a wide range of pipe connections and capillary lengths up to 35m and are suitable for up to 1.2 bar of incoming fuel pressure.
Pipe connections of 3/8” and 1/2” ensure an optimum flow rate is achieved; the 3/8” version includes compression nuts and olives whilst the 1/2” TFV is the only 1/2” thermostatic fire valve on the market.

Fuelstop’s TFV is suitable for use with Class C and D fuels as well as LPG and provide automatic shut off in the event of an overheat within the fuel burning appliance and a fail-safe shut off in the event of a capillary or sensor failure.
The capillary fire valves are manufactured in two temperature ranges; 66ºC to 72ºC and 86ºC to 95ºC.
If the temperature in the fuel burning appliance exceeds the temperature range appropriate to the valve, the liquid inside the capillary expands and causes the TFV to shut down, cutting off the supply of fuel to the appliance immediately.

The capillary fits through 15mm ducting pipework and all Fuelstop TFVs are suitable with suction or gravity head fuel systems at pressures of -0.8 bar vacuum and 1.2 bar positive head.
Fuelstop’s TFV’s have high flow rate characteristics making them ideal for suction lift applications.
At a 1.2m head the 3/8” valve is rated at 180 litres per hour whilst the ½” valve is rated at 360 litres per hour.
Additionally Fuelstops valves are less susceptible to cold weather conditions and vibration than other alternative products.
