EXHEAT Industrial supply FP Cast Line Heaters to Malikai Oil Field

EXHEAT Industrial have supplied four 20.94kW FP Cast Line Heaters and Thyristor Control Panels to the Malikai Oil Field project. T&D are authorised distributors and stockist or the full EXHEAT industrial range including hazardous area fan heaters & air warmers, flameproof & industrial immersion heaters, hazardous area line heaters, water heaters & thermostat products.

The EXHEAT range of FP Cast aluminium line heaters provide an effective heating solution for constant flow liquids or gases, eliminating the requirement for a costly pressure vessel.

FP Cast line heaters can provide significant commercial advantage, particularly in high pressure applications, or when exotic process materials are required.

The design of the FP Cast line heaters incorporates electric heating elements and an indirect process heating coil imbedded within marine grade cast aluminium. This provides excellent heat transfer properties combined with low surface temperatures.

Typical applications for FP hazardous area flameproof line heaters include heating natural gases, solvents, steam generation, paint heating and pasteurisation.

FP line heaters have a flameproof terminal enclosure certified weatherproof to IP66 and can be mounted either horizontally or vertically on walls and floors as required. The line heaters have multiple heating elements which allow for step control or thyristor control, internal control thermostats and over-temperature protection thermostats are also available. FP line heaters are suitable for Zone 1 & Zone 2 hazardous area applications and are certified to meet the requirements of the ATEX Directive 94/9/EC, IECEx and CSA.

The Malikai Oil Field is situated on Block G offshore Sabah, Malaysia in a water depth of 1,854 feet (565 meters). Shell serves as the operator and holds a 35% interest; ConocoPhillips holds 35% and Petronas holds the remaining 30%. The platform will be designed as a fully manned platform and will have facilities to process 60,000 b/d of oil and 1.4 MMcm/d.
