ASCO Numatics Intrinsically Safe (Ex i) Direct Acting Solenoid Valves

Intrinsically Safe (Ex i) Solenoid Valves For Use In Harsh Environments

ASCO Numatics have developed two intrinsically safe solenoid valves with Ex ia IIC T6 suitable for use within aggressive environments.

Designed for use with ASCO Numatics 327 range of direct operated solenoid valves and the solenoid operators are available in stainless steel or epoxy coated aluminium. Certified with the following accreditations, ATEX, Category 1G/2D, Equipment Protection (EPL) Ga/Db, IECEx and IEC 61508 Functional Safety (SIL 3 capable) making the solenoid operators suitable for use in harsh environments.

Power Consumption	O.5W at 24V
Product Development	Electronic booster coil and stainless steel core
Material	Epoxy coated aluminium or 316L stainless steel enclosure rated to IP66 or IP67
Operator	Can be rotated 360
Electrical Connection	Via cable gland (M20 x 1.5) or cable connection ½” NPT

ASCO Numatics 327 Series Solenoid Valves - Technical Specification

Material	Brass, stainless steel or aluminium
Flow Rate	Kv 0.45m³/h operate from 0 to 10 bar
Ambient Temperature	-40°C to +60°C
Certification	ATEX and IECEx EN 60079-0, EN 60079-11, 60079-31, EN 61241-0 and EN 61241-11

The introduction of the new solenoid valve means that ASCO can now offer a universal intrinsically safe valve for 3/2 and 2/2 normally open and normally closed applications in aggressive environments across the process industry.
