THERMOSTATIC MIXING VALVES
T&D are an approved UK distributor for HORNE thermostatic mixing valves and can offer excellent discounts across the entire Horne range. Please contact a member of the T&D sales team to find out how much money you could save.

Both Horne 15 and Horne 20 mixing valves are designed to meet the requirements of BS7924:2000 “Thermostatic mixing valves for use in care establishments” and are approved for use under the TMV3 scheme.
Horne Thermostatic Mixing Valves – Safety & Performance

All versions of the Horne 15 and 20 TMVs have been certified as compliant with the performance requirements of the NHS model engineering specification D08 thermostatic mixing valves (Healthcare Premises) and as surch are termed type 3 TMVs.

Horne Thermostatic Mixing Valves – Mechanical Specification
A veriety of options are available but all include certain key components in addition to the TMV itself such as full bore fine mesh strainers, angle pattern inlets and check valves. Other options include integral isolating valves, wall mounting kits and covers. These features must be taken into account when establishing the cost benifits of the Horne TMVs.

Horne Thermostatic Mixing Valves – Durability
The current range of Horne TMVs is the result of over 80 years of development and improvement. Materials and designs have been adopted to ensure that the product is highly robust and durable.

Horne Thermostatic Mixing Valves – Maintenance Support
A TMV is principally a safety product that has moving parts and must be maintained to ensure correct performance. The Horne maintenance presentation shows and tells customer how to install, commission and maintain Horne TMVs. Please contact T&D for more information.

Meynell Thermostatic Mixing Valve 15/3 -

Meynell Thermostatic Mixing Valve 15/3

MEYNELL 15/3 Thermostatic Mixing Valve

A ½" thermostatic mixing valve with integral check valves and strainers, suitable for under-basin installation and providing thermostatic shutdown in less than 2 seconds.
The unit also incorporates tamper proof temperature adjustment.

Operation:
Designed to be installed into the supply pipework and must be used with a separate outlet flow control such as a tap.

Connections:
Inlet and outlet: 15 mm compression fittings.

Pressure:
 Minimum operating pressure: 0.1 bar.
 Maximum static pressure: 10 bar.
 Maximum pressure loss ratio: 10:1 (in favour of either supply).
 Maximum hot water supply temperature: 85°C.
 Maximum cold water supply temperature: 25°C.
Note: Both hot and cold pressures should be nominally equal.

Temperature range:
 Factory pre-set maximum outlet temperature: 42°C.
 Minimum temperature differential between hot inlet and pre-set outlet temperature: 10°C.
 Optimum temperature control range: 35–45°C.
 Maximum hot water temperature: 85°C (for safety reasons it is recommended that the hot water storage temperature is maintained at between 60°C and 65°C in ablutionary applications).

Materials:
Body: DZR brass housed in white plastic casing.

TMV 3 Scheme

TMV 3 Scheme -

TMV 3 Scheme
The TMV Scheme is an independent third party approval scheme administered by Buildcert.

The TMV Scheme certifies Type 3 thermostatic mixing valves manufactured to meet the highest specifications required by the NHS Estates D08 standard for mixing valves for use within health care premises in the United Kingdom.

The TMV Scheme also now certifies Type 2 thermostatic mixing valves for the domestic market and is working with the Child Accident Prevention Trust to promote the safe use of hot water in domestic premises.
