SURFACE HEATING MATS - Contact T&D UK for Technical Advice
T&D offer excellent customer service and have a design team that is able to offer technical expertise and a range of electrical heating solutions to what can be a very bespoke application.
Prototype - Production. Virtually any shape and size silicone heating mat can be manufactured. Please call to discuss your application and our technical team will help find a solution.
Surface heating mats and panels are specified for complex or flat surface heating applications. Customised flexible heating mats and heaters provide even heat distribution to critical process temperature maintenance applications up to 230C. A variety of fastening devices are available for the full range of heater mats and products to enable quick and easy site installation.
Typical applications include:- Industrial catering, battery warming, environmental control, laboratory equipment, satellite dish snow melting, anti condensation and pipe curing systems.
Wire Wound
Using evenly spaced resistance wires laminated betwen sheets of silicone, wire wound mats are ideal for prototyping or problem solving applications. Manufactured to customer specifications they can be made in a limitless range of shapes and sizes. High flexibility can be obtained using tough, robust materials which are finding ever increasing applications in industry.
Etch Foil
Computer designed chemically etched foil tracks are laminated between thin sheets of silicone to give precise even heating. Suitable for both low and high volume production, etched foil heaters have rapid heat up properties with precise temperature control. Available in a limitless range to customer specification, etch foil heaters provide heating solutions in a multiple of industries.
Polyimide (Kapton) Insulated Heating Elements
Polyimide (Kapton) is a semitransparent, flexible, thin material, ideally suited for the manufacture of etch foil heater mats. With its low mass density, superb electrical insulating properties and excellent resistance to most chemicals, it allows high power densities with fast efficent thermal transfer. Being thin and lightweight with a wide temperature range, polyimide heaters have a distinct advantage over other froms of heating elements. Where fast response, chemical resistance and low profile is required, polyimide heaters offer the ideal solution.
Wire wound silicone rubber heaters mats and panels are available from one off to large batch quantities. Flexible heating mats and heater panels are customised and designed to satisfy customer specification. T&D UK provide a high quality range of flexible heaters at competitive prices coupled with fast delivery times. T&D UK also offer a full flexible heater design and technical service.
All flexible heater mats are manufactured to conform to the
Silicone rubber heater mats offer high temperature tolerance and superb electrical insulating properties T&D heater mats are produced by laminating the evenly spaced resistance wires between two sheets of silicone rubber, reinforced with a glass textile to give improved mechanical strength to the heater mats. These surface heaters are suitable for applications where precise electrical heating is required. Fine resistance wires accurately and precisely positioned over areas of almost any shape or size heater mat. The close even spacing of the heater mat wires ensure a uniform heat distribution over the entire working area. The maximum continuous operating temperature for a silicone rubber heater mat is 200°C, allowing for a generous safety margin for short term over-temperature excursions as high as 230°C. Being thin and light weight, silicone rubber heater mats have a low thermal mass and therefore have rapid heat up characteristics and a fast response to temperature control.
Heater mats can be manufactured in almost any size and shape to suit the application, including holes and cut outs without disturbing the even distribution of heat. Also available is a range of in-built temperature limiters or temperature sensors to suit customer’s instrumentation.
Surface heater mats can be supplied with an acrylic self-adhesive backing to allow for easy positioning and assembly. A separate silicone adhesive system is available if required. These surface heater mats can also be manufactured with eyelets, straps, hooks or Velcro as further options for fixing. As for heater mats which are not for static applications we can supply a more rugged silicone material to allow for repeated handling which will give a longer life.
