- Flexible solutions

Murco manufactures high quality and competitively priced fixed gas detectors for the detection of gases in a variety of applications.
Typical gases include:

- Refrigerant Gas Leak Detection

- Toxic Gas Leak Detection

- Combustible Gas Leak Detection

- VOC Gas Leak Detection

Continuous Monitoring Principle
Our systems locate fixed sensors in the area to be monitored with a hard wire connection back to the central controller or BMS so that you have a continuous signal from the area.

Our approach eliminates problems typically faced by air sampling systems.

Murco gas detectors allow continuous monitoring with:

  • No delay in measurement or transport of air sample
  • No blocked plastic tubes and filters
  • No difficult installation worries about kinking tubes

Refrigerant Gas Leak Detection - ST IAM Murco Gas Sensor

Refrigerant Gas Leak Detection - ST IAM Murco Gas Sensor -

Refrigerant Gas Leak Detection - ST IAM Murco Gas Sensor
The ST-IAM range consists of ST-IAM sensors and ST-MON panels.

The ST-IAM is a stand-alone transmitter. The unit combines sensor and monitor in one single enclosure. Up to 99 ST-IAM sensors can be connected to the ST-MON panel. This allows for the construction of large integrated gas detection and monitoring systems. ST-IAM sensors provide universal outputs of 0-5V, 0-10V, 4-20mA, RS-485, and 2 relays, all present all of the time, and which can be used in any combination.

Murco produce these units in several different versions. With Semiconductor, Catalytic, Electrochemical, and Infrared gas sensor technology the ST-IAM can be used to detect the majority of gases:

• refrigerants including ammonia, halocarbons, hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide.
• combustible gases including methane, LPG, propane, butane, hydrogen.
• toxic and VOC gases including carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulphide, acetone, benzene, ethanol, and many more.

Another advantage of its design is that for calibration purposes, a change of the target gas, or simply replacement, you only need to exchange a sensor board (practical and cost-effective).

The ST-IAM is the ideal solution for:
• applications requiring continuous gas leak detection monitoring and linear outputs.
• existing control systems that want to expand their capabilities by adding gas leak detection and gas monitoring.
• The construction of large scale installations with connection of up to 99 ST-IAMs in a daisy-chain arrangement to our ST-MON panel.

Murco Gas Sensors - MGS Range
The Murco Gas Sensor (MGS) is a state-of-the-art fixed gas detector which can detect a wide range of different gases. The gas sensors can be used on a stand-alone basis or integrated into Controls or Building Management Systems (BMS). It is a high-specification product available at a competitive price and it offers customers absolute confidence that both safety and compliance requirements are met or exceeded.

MGS gas sensors can be used for:
• new buildings/areas that require continuous monitoring with high tech gas sensor transmitters.
• customers who want to add gas detection solutions to an existing system.

Typical gas leak detection applications include:
• detection of refrigerant gases including: Ammonia, Carbon Dioxide, Hydrocarbons, Halocarbons - HFCs, HCFCs, CFCs.
• detection of combustible gases such as: Methane, LPG, Propane, Butane, and Hydrogen
• detection of toxic gases such as: Carbon Dioxide and Ammonia in refrigeration, Hydrogen Sulphide in sewage treatment and Carbon Monoxide in underground car parks
• detection of volatile Organic Compounds such as: Acetone, Benzene, Carbon Tetrachloride, Chloroform, Ethanol, Toluene, Trichloroethylene.

We can also supply Control Panels if you wish to have a stand-alone gas detection system. Models are available with 2, 4, 6… and up to 16 channels.

Murco IAM Range (Integrated Area Monitor)
The IAM range of monitors consists of IAM sensors and IAM-C panels. The IAM sensor is a preset alarm system that combines sensor and monitor in an integrated unit. It is a stand-alone system used to detect gases in an area, room, zone, airspace or airflow.

Up to 16 IAM’s can connect to an IAM-C panel. This panel shows the sensor in alarm and has mains rated relays for control purposes. These panels can be connected to each other enabling the construction of large gas detector systems.

The IAM is an ideal refrigerant gas leak detection solution for installations in hotel rooms, conference rooms, apartment blocks, and office buildings, monitoring air conditioning installations, and storage facilities.

The Murco Gas Detector (MGD) is the ideal gas detection solution for installations requiring a quality and affordable stand-alone gas detector.
It consists of 1 to 6 remote gas sensors connected to and powered by a controller. The controller provides visual, audible, and relay alarms on the detection of gases.
The system is available with one or two levels of alarm.

Murco Gas Detectors sensors can be used for:
• detecting refrigerant gases including ammonia, CO2, halocarbons, and hydrocarbons.
• speedy detection of combustible gases including methane, propane, butane, LPG, and hydrogen.
• detection of toxic and VOC gases including acetone, benzene, ethanol, and many more.

Murco Check & Calibration Range

EN378 and F Gas regulations on halocarbon refrigerants make regular checking of gas leak detection systems mandatory. Those in the industry have a duty of care to inform and educate plant operators on these requirements. To simplify compliance and checking, Murco offer both calibration kits and gas ampoule test kits and provide an easy to follow test procedure
.
For ammonia and CO2 we have gas ampoules which are cheaper and may be a more flexible solution - they are not classed as hazardous for transport (see Ampoules test kit leaflet). Halocarbons such as R404A are not available in ampoules. For some products eg. MGD 2 level and ST-IAM, Murco suggests exchanging sensor PCBS with pre-calibrated units at regular intervals as this may be cheaper than on-site calibration and avoids sensor ‘end of life’ issues. A newly improved ‘hood’ has been developed for our calibration kits which focuses and concentrates the gas on the sensor with greater accuracy saving users.
