IBC heaters and heating jackets are designed to provide electric surface heating to products stored in 1000 Litre Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC's). The IBC heaters reduce viscosity of fats, oils, foodstuffs and chemicals and are in widespread service throughout the pharmaceutical, chemicals, cosmetic, food processing and manufacturing industries. IBC heater jackets are available with ATEX certification hazardous area use.

T&D offer ex stock heating jackets and also customised units to suit all heating jacket applications.

IBC Heaters : Model Reference : HIBC/B

The HIBC/B insulated IBC heater jacket has a heating element stitched into an insulated heating jacket made from a water-resistant, teflon coated poyester, insulated with a layer of filament insulation.

The IBC heater jacket comes complete with release buckles for ease of installation and removal. The heating jacket has two separate heating circuits for its upper and lower halves; each circuit is controlled by an integral capillary thermostat for guaranteed IBC heating.

All IBC heaters and heater jackets are manufactured to conform to the EEC Low Voltage and EMC directives and CE marked accordingly.

IBC Heaters : Model Reference : HIBC/A

HIBC/A is a silicone mat IBC heater for placement below the container liner before filling. An insulation heater jacket covering four sides and the IBC lid is also available to aid warm up time. Control of the IBC heater is via a 0° C to 90° C digital thermostat housed in an enclosure along with a RCD.

HIBC/B is an insulated nylon heater IBC jacket which covers all four sides of the IBC container and has an optional insulated lid.

IBC Heater Specification

IBC Heaters : Model Reference : HIBC/A

IBC Heater Rating: 2700 Watts 230 Volts AC

IBC Heater Temp. Control: 20°C-90°C Electronic Controller (Digital Readout)

IBC Heater Performance: Water temp. from 15°C to 70°C in 42 hours (No Insulation Jacket)

Water temp. from 15°C to 70°C in 30 hours (With Insulation Jacket)

The HIBC/A silicone heater IBC heater comprises of a high temperature resistance wire element laminated between silicone/ glass sheets.

A PTC temperature sensor is also embedded between the sheets of the IBC heater. This connects to an electronic temperature controller via the heater power cable and provides accurate measurement and fast response to temperature changes at the bottom of the IBC liner. This makes the IBC heater suitable for both high-energy absorbing products and highly viscous, temperature sensitive materials.
