T&D offer a full range of drum heating equipment and drum heaters for the heat up and temperature maintenance of steel and plastic drums from 25L - 205L. Our product range includes electrical heating jackets, base drum heaters, induction drum heaters and ATEX approved drum heaters. We can offer high power drum heating jackets which provide fast heat up times or lower powered drum heating jackets for gentle heat up.

Designed to heat 205 litre drums or smaller steel vessels. Thermosafe drum heater is a single induction coil, wholly encapsulated in a cylinder made from a glass reinforced resin specifically developed for chemical plant. The cylinder is simply placed over the drum. Physical contact is not required.
The drum heating coil is connected to a single phase AC mains supply and generates heat directly and uniformly in the drum wall. Energy transfer is by alternating magnetic field and thus there is no heat transfer by the conventional and inefficient means of radiation or convection. As there are no hot elements, the drum heater remains substantially cooler than the drum being heated.

Drum Heaters - ATEX Cetrified Drum Heating Solutions - Thermosafe Type B
Thermosafe Type B
The Thermosafe type B drum heater uses the same technology as the Thermosafe Type A. The drum heating unit covers the lower half of the drum and is ideal for easier handling or where space is restricted. Two drum heating units can be stacked on top of each other to heat the full height of drum.
The drum heating unit is suitable for heating of liquids and powders and can be used for melting of solids.

The HBD base drum heaters are manufactured with a 900W silicone rubber insulated heater mat which provides an even distribution of heat to the platen. If rapid heat up is required and the contents will accept heat rapidly, or solid medium are involved a HISD side drum heater can be used in conjunction with the HBD drum heater. Alternatively a thermally insulated drum heater jacket can be used.

Drum Heater : Type HISD Insulated Heater Jacket
The HISD side drum heaters are a simple and effective method of applying heat to drums. Four standard drum heater sizes are available for 25L, 50L, 105L and 200L drums. The HISD insulated drum heater jacket is specifically designed for use with plastic drums but can be used on any containers where delicate materials require gentle electrical heating and warming. HISD drum heaters can also be used in conjunction with the HBD base drum heater to increase product heat up.
Non-standard drum heater sizes are also available upon request.
These low powered double insulated drum heaters are constructed to Class II for added safety. The heating element of the HISD drum jacket heating range is stitched into an insulated jacket made from a water-resistant, teflon coated polyester, insulated with glass filament blanket insulation complete with quick release buckles for ease of installation and removal. Drum Heater Jacket - Type HTSD Insulated Heater Jacket
The HTSD side drum heater has the same design and construction as the HISD drum heater jacket but instead of teflon coated polyester as the jacket material, it uses a silicone impregnated glass cloth.
Heater Jacket Control is via a 20 - 220°C thermostat.
As with the nylon drum heater jackets, the HTSD range is double insulated and constructed to class II electrical insulation. HTSD drum heaters include 3 meters of power cable and are available for 110 Volt or 230 Volt supply.
Attachment to the drum is by adjustable quick release buckles.
Four standard drum heater sizes are available as detailed below, non-standard drum heater sizes and ratings are also available upon request.

All HISD and HTSD side drum heaters are manufactured to conform to the EEC low voltage and EMC directives and CE marked accordingly.
Additionally for safety, it is advised that power to the drum heater be disconnected when the drum is either empty or being filled, or upon installation or removal of the heater itself. It is recommended that the unit be operated in a dry environment with the drum vented to avoid build up of internal pressure.

The HSSD silicone side drum heater is a simple and effective method of applying heat to 200 Litre drums. Multiple drum heating units up to a maximum of three can be used to give quicker warm up times and higher product temperatures. The HSSD drum heater is specifically designed for the melting or reducing the viscosity of soaps, fats, varnishes and oil based type products. HSSD drum heaters can also be used in conjunction with the HBD base drum heater to increase product heat up.
Silicone rubber insulated drum heaters constructed to Class II double insulated standard with a high temperature tolerance. The heating element of the HSSD drum heater is PTFE coated and sandwiched between multiple layers of silicone coated glass fabric. The drum heating unit comes complete with a 20° to 120C° capillary thermostat, 2 metre high temperature rubber insulated power cable and a simple spring and clip arrangement that ensures good surface contact with the drum.
