Drum Heaters - Silicone Rubber Insulated Drum Heaters
The HSSD silicone side drum heater is a simple and effective method of applying heat to 200 Litre drums. Multiple drum heating units up to a maximum of three can be used to give quicker warm up times and higher product temperatures. The HSSD drum heater is specifically designed for the melting or reducing the viscosity of soaps, fats, varnishes and oil based type products. HSSD drum heaters can also be used in conjunction with the HBD base drum heater to increase product heat up.
Silicone rubber insulated drum heaters constructed to Class II double insulated standard with a high temperature tolerance. The heating element of the HSSD drum heater is PTFE coated and sandwiched between multiple layers of silicone coated glass fabric. The drum heating unit comes complete with a 20° to 120C° capillary thermostat, 2 metre high temperature rubber insulated power cable and a simple spring and clip arrangement that ensures good surface contact with the drum.

Additionally for safety it is advised that power to the drum heater be disconnected when the drum is either empty or being filled, or upon installation or removal of the heater itself. It is recommended that the drum heater unit be operated in a dry environment with the drum vented to avoid build up of internal pressure.
