BREEAM

BREEAM - Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method

What is BREEAM?

BREEAM is the world's foremost environmental assessment method and rating system for buildings.

There are over 200,000 buildings with certified BREEAM assessment ratings and around a million registered for assessment since it was first launched in 1990.

BREEAM addresses wide-ranging environmental and sustainability issues and enables developers, designers and building managers to demonstrate the environmental credentials of their buildings to clients, planners and other initial parties.

BREEAM have developed individual assessment methods and certification schemes for each of the following:-

  • Courts
  • Data Centres
  • Education
  • Healthcare
  • Multi Residential
  • Offices
  • Other Buildings
  • Prisons
  • Retails
  • BREEAM New construction UK 2011*

*BREEAM New construction UK 2011 is a consolidation of all the above BREEAM schemes and has been developed as an easy to use manual which covers the BREEAM assessment criteria for the majority of types of building.

BREEAM HEA 12 Microbial Contamination

Aim - To ensure the building services are designed to reduce the risk of legionellosis in operation

T&D distribute a range of products that are compliant with BREEAM HEA 12 criteria. Please click on a link below for further information:-

Cistermiser Novatap, Nouvospout & Vectaspout - Hygiene Rinse Facility Reduces Risk of Microbial Contamination.

Cistermiser Anti Vandal Range - Hygiene rinse facility reduces risk of microbial contamination.

Hot Water Trace Heating - Used to maintain the water flow temperature above 55ºC preventing legionella.

BREEAM POL 1  - Impact of Refrigerants (BREEAM New Construction Guidelines 2011) & BREEAM POL 2 - Preventing Refrigerant Leaks (2008 BREEAM Guidelines)

POL 1 Aim - To reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions arising from the leakage of refrigerants from building systems.

POL 2 Aim - To reduce the emissions of refrigerants to atmosphere arising from leakages in cooling plant.

Refrigerant leak detection: An automated permanently installed multi-point sensing system, designed to continuously monitor the atmosphere in the vicinity of refrigeration equipment and, in the event of detection, raise an alarm.

The system may be aspirated or have multiple sensor heads linked to a central alarm unit or BMS. Various sensor types are available including infra-red, semi-conductor or electro-chemical.

T&D distribute a range of products that are compliant with BREEAM POL 1 & POL 2 criteria. Please click on a link below for further information:-
